1.Using your notes from your reading, summarize what is happening in your story using 2 examples from your book. Include at least 2.one connection and 3.one inference that you made while reading. Keep in mind the previous feedback that you've received so that you don't make the same errors.
So far the summary of The Book Thief By Markus Suzak, is about Liesel's foster family the Hubberman's taking in Max, a Jew. While Max is in coma from freezing up in the basement, Liesel provides him with gift's. Gift's that she stole and found. Liesel and her best friend Rudy Steiner, stole books from the mayor's house. The book was one of the gifts she gave Max. She would read it to him, hoping, he wake up. She read it with such a clear voice and gentle touch, her lips synced into her words in such a precise matter. This is shown on Pgs 323 through 324. I have given gift's too. I gave my Mom a worthless note saying I love you and happy mothers day, I made because I didn't had money like Liesel. An inference I made while reading was that when on pg 363 Rudy dropped to his knees for being tired from all the track events he had done, I infered that he was going to die, not literaly but need to have emergency help because he ran 4 events where he he gave it his all, it's tough running alot. I've been in track too and it's hard two events with out going all out, imagine running 4.
Sergio, I like how you challenged yourself by paraphrasing your quotes instead of copying sentences. I also like the connection you made about giving gifts that are not expensive. Your inference about how hard Rudy ran was backed up well. I wonder how else you could have written them though so they were more clear and completely written.
ReplyDeleteI know you are trying very hard to be specific and detailed. But chico, you really need to take the time to reread. There are so many sentences that have grammar or spelling errors. You really need to start typing in word, spell checking, and then paste into blogger. You are trying to give me a good summary of what is going on but you are confusing me with some of your word choices (sleeps frozen from freezing up in basement; gave my Momo a worthless (which means bad) note) and you cut off sentences or don't finish thoughts. How could you help me understand what is wrong with Max's health, why Rudy the manical racer has to do with anything. And what about your first sentence? Would the "process your process" chart help you do a better job of answering the prompt with clear and completely written sentences?
You are to concerned with finishing fast and talking. Slow down your process. Look at Ms. Luthey's blog response. She often does several paragraphs. This is to make sure you are clear. Sometimes you can do it in one, but you have to be concise. Grammar is killing you.
Grade: 6 I can't give you a 7 with that many distractions I had as a reader. I worked to hard to read this. Don't hate.
